FOR PUPPIES (to 6 months)

Puppy Kindergarten (for puppies 14 weeks - 5 1/2 months)

ZipperPuppy Kindergarten is our flagship small-group class. Here, pups gain a foundation of manners while experiencing positive socialization with other pups and people.

Puppy Kindergarten lessons cover:

  • Dealing with puppy behavior challenges (such as housetraining, chewing, biting, and jumping)
  • Ways to manage your puppy to encourage good behaviors and prevent bad habits
  • Ways to be an effective leader and dog parent to your dog
  • Basic puppy obedience, including attention, sit, settle, down, stay, wait, walk nicely on a leash, polite greetings
  • Coming when called - quickly and reliably
  • Games and playtime that make learning fun
  • And much more!

Time: Once a week for 8 weeks. The first session, known as our “Training Toolkit Seminar” is an orientation to canine behavior and training (this session lasts approximately 2½ hours and pups stay home). Sessions 2-8 include the pups, of course; these sessions last approximately one hour.

Cost: $175, includes 30-minute private equipment session, deluxe treat bag, clicker and wrist band, 30’ long line, access to online training materials, grad photos, certificate.

Dates/Registration: See Class Schedule and Registration

Vaccination Requirements: Pups must have completed at least two of their parvo-distemper vaccinations and have received a bordetella vaccination to enroll in this class. These vaccinations must have been administered at a veterinary office. Many puppy vaccination packages do not include the bordetella vaccination so please ask your veterinarian about this additional vaccination.

After completion of Puppy Kindergarten, graduates should easily be able to jump to Level 2 of our Levels Obedience Program!

"An excellent class! I feel like I understand so much more about my dog and what motivates his behavior. At the Canine Connection I learned some very valuable tools that I'll be able to use to continue training my dog throughout his lifetime."
