Adopt a Dog

Adoptable Dogs

Here at The Canine Connection we are committed to helping dogs and people develop permanent, positive connections. We are now featuring local dogs available through non-profit adoption programs. Please direct questions about these dogs to their adoption coordinators and not to us. We do not personally know these dogs and can not guarantee the soundness of their temperament or their fit with your family. And, we are not involved in the adoption process. Their adoption coordinators can address questions with you. We DO know that positive training will enhance the relationship between you and your dog so we hope to meet you and your new best friend soon.

Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt
Male (neutered)
9 years old
Feathered tri Saluki

Vanderbilt traveled from Kuwait to find a new home. He is a very quiet boy, nervous at first, but warms up fairly easily to people, and seems to really enjoy attention and other dogs once he knows them. He will vocalize on occasion when excited about food and does dance around the house. He is learning how to live in a good home and is a very fast learner. He is able to settle in the house on a soft bed, and gets very excited and loves to run in the yard. Do not let his age fool you! He is very active and enjoys life. He would do best in a home without cats that is able to work with him and encourage him to gain confidence and show him how wonderful a loving home can be!

Vanderbilt is being fostered in Northern California, and we are hoping to match him with a forever home that is within drivable distance of his foster home.

Available for adoption through STOLA, Inc. Saluki Rescue

Please contact Western Regional Coordinator Serafina Cupido at celestecavies@yahoo.com for an application or more information.

Kenz
Kenz
Male (neutered)
7.5 years old
Smooth fawn Saluki

Kenz traveled from Kuwait to find a new home. He is a very silly boy, that loves people, but is still learning how to live in a good home. He smiles sometimes, loves to run in the yard, and has a very happy tail! He really enjoys also settling down in the house with a cosy bed and chewtoy. He could also gain a few pounds and is very tall. He will probably be a larger Saluki male in the 60-pound range when filled out.

Kenz has had a rough start to life and is undergoing training which will need to be continued by his new home. He would be best with a dog close to his size as a playmate and is not recommended for homes with cats.

Kenz is being fostered in Northern California, and we are hoping to match him with a forever home that is within drivable distance of his foster home.
